Supported Living

Supported Living

At Allot we take pride in offering supported living services that provide innovative and person-centred support enabling people with autism, learning disabilities, mental health illnesses and challenging behaviours to live as independently as possible within their own homes and in the local community.

The support provided is person-centred and specifically tailored to meet every unique need, underpinned by our philosophy that every individual has the right to live the life they choose for themselves.

By definition, Supported living services enable individuals with a disability to live independently in their own home, with appropriate support to help them manage their own tenancy and achieve greater freedom and control in their lives. Support can be provided in a person’s own house, their flat or in a shared living environment.

The services we provide can range from occasional visits from a support worker, flexible support during the day or in the evening, overnight and/or at weekends, right through to 24 hours a day. Some services might be shared if more than one person with support needs live together, for instance a couple sharing a flat.

Individually Tailored support

Our support is individually tailored to meet your specific needs. We have a team of support workers who will work with you to identify your needs and desired outcomes.

Our staff are fully trained and take a person-centred approach to planning and delivering each individual’s support. We have a good team of enthusiastic and highly trained staff team who will ensure right from the beginning that you will know what we will do to support the person, which can include helping with setting up a home and gaining a tenancy. In order to achieve the best possible outcomes, we also work in close partnership with different other professionals that include health and social care professionals, education, housing and vocational training providers and employers.

Developing Daily Living Skills

We will support all aspects of daily life to develop the skills required to live more independently. This includes:

  • Personal care
  • Healthy eating
  • Taking medication
  • Support with benefits
  • Maintaining tenancies
  • Paying bills and budgeting
  • Maintaining the home
  • Employment and further education
  • Participating in community-based activities

Care Pathways

At Allot we have different pathways that we can offer to you to choose from. The individuals we support can progress through our care pathways, developing their levels of independence, and where appropriate, transfer seamlessly to a supported living model. Our support works alongside education, healthcare and residential services to ensure that the support is just right for the individual.
